Regeneration

As a gardener I have decided that it is my duty and role to do good for our land, to create and support the living systems. I am equally passionate about good design, aesthetics and in architectural plants that may not be native to the land we are working on but they just look so d*** good. So I must find a balance, to do good and look good, in my work of planning gardens and this will be one of the anchors of Green View Studios - Regenerative Design.

Why do we need to regenerate our land? Well, we are rapidly, drastically and horrifically loosing some of our species of birds and insects and populations are fast diminishing. Which obviously leads to further horror in the whole eco system. And I believe in the small things done by a lot of people, so we can bring this issue down to the smallest of gardens. Everyone who has a little plot, or balcony or wall, can be part of the mission to improve our biodiversity and regeneration.

Many garden centers and seed suppliers talk about this issue and give information about plants that serve a smörgåsbord for various birds and insects. So if you are thinking about what plants to buy this spring or which seeds to sow, firstly take a good look in the section of plants for pollinators and this goes for trees as well as perennials.

I hope that many more will see their landscape as a living framework and not just go for a roll-out lawn and a thuja hedge and call it a day. We just have to make more conscious choices when we add that flower that looked so pretty in the magazine, maybe if you have space to add another plant, ask for the ones that do good instead of just looking good, because I promise you it will also look good. Maybe even call us up to help you with the combinations so that lots of those pollinating plants will look and do good together.
